Over the past 10 years Club members have been very successful in securing grants and sponsorship to ensure continued Club development.
Support has come from:
- Community Club Development Programme (CCDP)
- Yorkshire Water
- Drains Aid
- Bradford MDC Community Chest
- Connexions Capacity Building Fund
- Bactive Sports Cheque Fund
- Co-operative Community Fund
- Lord Barnby’s Foundation
- Sport England Small Grants
Further details of the related projects can be found on the Club Development pages.
The Club is very much a community club voluntarily run by members for members. Although the Club is lucky to draw in external funding it would not be possible without contributions from the Club and its members.
The Club holds a number of events throughout the year such as the Captain’s BBQ and the Annual Dinner. Supporting these events helps raise vital funds to enable the purchase of new boats, oars etc.
The bar is open most evenings and throughout winter and bacon butties are available on a Sunday morning. Profits from each of these all contribute to the larger fundraising pot.
The club also has a range of merchandise available for purchase. Please see the Merchandise page for details.
Members often donate services such as plumbing, building and electrical work in kind to projects.
Supporting the Club in these ways not only ensures the general upkeep of the facilities but enables the purchase of new boats and oars etc.
How to Fundraise for BARC
Many of you will have come across JustGiving as a way of sponsoring friends and family participating in charity events. But did you know that JustGiving have teamed up with Sport England and CCPR to bring their service to Community Amateur Sports Clubs such as BARC?
So how does it work? Members can choose to make one off donations to the Club or set up regular monthly payments with ease through the JustGiving website. Donating through JustGiving makes it easier for the Club to claim Gift Aid back on the donation, adding an additional 28% to the value of the donation!
Easyfundraising is a website which donates cash back to the Club when members go through them to make online purchases from companies such as Amazon, M&S, itunes and Next. The website address is www.easyfundraising.org.uk Why not take a look for yourself, registration only takes a minute or two. You don’t need to be a member to register BARC as your designated charity/organisation to receive funds, so friends and family can also contribute!
If you ALREADY shop online, why not help BARC at no extra cost from purchases you would make anyway.
Easysearch is search engine much like Google but with the added advantage that every search performed raises funds for the Club. (Easysearch donate a percentage of advertising revenue back to the Club.) There is no need to register for this just use the following link to start raising funds for BARC while searching! http://bradfordarc.easysearch.org.uk/
