Like many rowing clubs across the UK BARC is closed to visitors – and we are all missing our great family of club friends. A select group of experienced scullers have been allowed on the water as long as they remain isolated from each other and follow Government guidance.

One of the things our members says is a valuable part of your BARC membership is the social interaction we all enjoy. To facilitate this during the on-going pandemic, the Committee are proposing a couple of “gather together apart” sessions, which will happen as groups continue go out onto the water.

Bring a chair or a blanket and a drink and some nibbles and sit and chat in up to three socially-distanced groups made up a maximum of six people on the following dates:

  • Friday 14th August 7pm onwards
  • Saturday 22nd August 4:30pm onwards
  • Sunday 30th August 3pm onwards.

The building will be closed to those who are visiting and not training as we would need to log your visit for track and trace purposes if you go in. These events have to comply with current guidance both from HMG and BR and could be subject to change.

The car park will remain closed, so don’t overload yourself with hampers and cool boxes. Please use the President’s Lawn and the Grammar School frontage, so boats can be moved safely in front of the boat sheds.

Check back for updates as we follow any further guidance from the Government.

Stay safe, wear a face mask and wash your hands.
